Even with the rigor that characterizes the scientific process, it is possible to make mistakes. Some of these mistakes are later discovered by the researchers themselves, which can be highly frightening, especially for early-career researchers
In this short piece, published in Nature Human Behavior, the PhD fellow Joana Grave (Emo|Senses Lab) tells us about the experience of discovering and dealing with an error in one of her scientific works. Despite having seen her article retracted, Joana describes the process as a positive experience!
A special thanks to Joana for sharing, to the journal Nature Human Behavior for the invitation, and to the other co-authors of the retracted article for reporting the error: Sandra C. Soares, Sofia Morais, Paulo Rodrigues and Nuno Madeira.
