Luiz Biondi is a PhD student at the Department of Education and Psychology at the University of Aveiro and a PhD fellow at the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
He completed a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2001 at the Metropolitan University of Santos, a specialization in Aquatic Environments in 2005 at the Catholic University of Pernambuco, a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences in 2007 at Faculdade Frassinetti do Recife, and a Master's degree in Science in 2010 at the department of Experimental Psychology at the University of São Paulo. During his Master's degree he investigated the positional behavior and substrate use of non-human primates (Sapajus libidinosus), especially bipedalism, terrestriality and the use of tools.
His research interests during his PhD involve the influence of spatial frequencies, the presence of conspecifics, perceptual load and anxiety in the vigilance and detection of threatening visual stimuli with evolutionary and ecological relevance, such as predators and certain facial expressions. Between 2012 and 2021 he participated in publications on behavioral ecology and was a primary school teacher.
